Schaefer Air Service provides these services for air transport:

  • Medical patient transport service throughout United States, Canada and Mexico. 

  • Medical team transport service.

  • Professional nurse escort service for domestic and international commercial flights.

Schaefer Air Service maintains and operates a fleet of FAA-certified Cessna Citation jet plane and Cessna twin-engine planes at its Van Nuys (California) home airport.  Each plane is fully equipped as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit and can be airborne within ninety minutes of a call, flown by two highly trained pilots.  A critical care nurse and, if needed, a respiratory therapist provide patient care during a flight.  As a pioneer in Air Ambulance service, Schaefer Air Service is a proud recipient of the Certificate of Excellence from the Professional Aeromedical Transport Association.

GROUND AMBULANCE SERVICE

Schaefer Ambulance Service owns and operates over seventy fully-equipped ambulance vans throughout Southern California.  With over four hundred highly-trained and certified emergency medical technicians (EMT), paramedics and nurses, Schaefer Ambulance Service provides both emergency and non-emergency medical transport service, as well as standby service at special events.

 

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) AMBULANCE

  • The unit is staffed by two Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) who are trained in basic emergency medical care.

ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) PARAMEDIC AMBULANCE

  • The unit is staffed by two Paramedics who are qualified to render advanced life support to patients, under the directions of a hospital base station.

CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT (CCT)

  • Two specially trained EMT's and a registered CCU-ER-ICU nurse transport a medical patient in accordance with the standing orders of the patient's physician.

NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU)

  • Two EMT's provide transport of a premature or distressed newborn and a team of medical personnel.

  • Schaefer Ambulance is experienced with providing medical care to a wide variety of special events and meeting the special requirements of event organizers.
